Cover Story

Saturday, August 7th, 2010

As previously mentioned, I was hunkering down on the book this week instead of the comic, so I thought it fitting to use the book's cover in the comic's place. With books, as with children, you want to achieve more on the follow-ups, so I'll be adding a number of additional features, including:

  • Alternate comic cutscenes
  • Storyboard versions of the cast
  • An excerpt from Wonderella's own book, "Rainbow Shards"
  • vague promises of more!

I'll open pre-orders in a couple weeks. In the meantime, the comic should roll out as usual next Saturday.

ART ALART

Here's another piece by Nate Frisoli about Wonderella's priorities!

Guys Wonderella is four years old! Speaking of Cathy, I started out Wonderella to make an off-the-clock superhero who was an average woman instead of some 24/7 warrior... though somewhere along the line, "average woman" became a cross between Elaine Benes and Zelda Fitzgerald.

Family Ties

Saturday, August 28th, 2010

Wonderella is not the only one with a family history! I have been waiting for do these characters for a pretty long time, but needed to establish Patrianna and Queen Beetle first. The comic also allowed me to do what every cartoonist loves most: draw a crowd of angry gorillas.
