Five Years!

Saturday, September 3rd, 2011

It's been five years since The Non-Adventures of Wonderella hit the web if you can believe this, and I've generally thrown her some contrived birthday prank around this time of year.  However, the fifth anniversary is generally the wood anniversary, so I have finally given in to the years of email and given Wonderella the traditional "rude comic book knockers".

Das Boobs

Due to overwhelming reader response, I have added breasts to the space dinosaur cowboy.

This was not a statement I was expecting to make today (or ever), but your logic is irrefutable and I am not above admitting my own mistakes.

I will not add breasts to Robin Hood.

I am sorry, but I must be adamant about this.

No comic this week

Saturday, September 17th, 2011

A combination of sickness and late hours at my big-money job has rendered me too doddering and sleepless to finish this week's comic in a non-slapdash way.

So, for the first time in a couple years, I will miss an update and spend this week buffering to help me avoid another goose egg due to this soft human body. I apologize for the inconvenience.

10 Spot

Today marks ten years from the date I started working on my first online comic, Killroy and Tina (thus, Killroy on today's page). K&T was an epic story that ended halfway with a whimper, as its glacial pacing and intricate continuity wore me down.

That makes it ten years that I've done online comics in some fashion. It's taught me a lot about what's sacred, what I'm willing to give up, and how to deal with the realtime feedback of literally dozens of readers. But the most unique lesson I've learned is not to start a massive, ambitious project if you're not ready. Or, as Wonderella would say, "Sometimes half-ass is exactly the right amount of ass".
